Playing Fixed Limit Texas Holdem
Fixed Limit holdem game involved much less statergies and tactics than pot-limit and no-limit
holdem games. If you are new to texas holdem, always go play fixed-limit, until you get use to the game.
Playing fixed limt holdem is quite straight forward, only a few important things you need
to pay more attention if you are in the game: your starting hand, your position and your drawing outcome (pot odd).
If you are in early position, only play premium startng hands. Quit limping in with bad cards in
hoping of hitting something in the flop, it's not worth it, especially when you are in an aggressive
table which there are many pre-flop raising.
You can play a bit loose in late posiotns like the botton or right to the button when there is no
raise before you and you can see a cheap flop.
Pot odd is very important in fixed-limit holdem when you are in the situation of drawing cards to
complete the best hand, like straight draw, flush draw, etc. Pay more attantion to the pot size especially
when you are drawing only 1 card to complete your straight,
example, you are hold 10, K, and the board has A, J, the only card can complete your straight is a Q.
Betting and betting... when you are holding a monster hand, don't be afraid of that you will
bet all your opponents out in the rounds. You will see a lot of chasing in fixed limit game. The
calling is so cheap in this game, many player won't even hesitated a second for calling when they
only hit the middle pair, bet to get yourself a bigger pot.
